Let me take you back to the beginning. It all started at 4 years old. My mom would sit me down on the couch and read with me. Book after book, story after story, I would grab piles from my room and read them over and over, long after I was supposed to be sleeping. I just couldn't get enough. To this day it is the greatest gift I have ever received. My love of reading just continued to absolutely skyrocket from there. From Junie B. Jones to Harry Potter to Sharon Creech novels, to John Green and young adult novels, to Sylvia Plath and J.D. Salinger -- my world has never ceased growing and expanding. It is through books that I am able to live an infinite number of lives in the span of my own. I have travelled through time and across many distant lands -- even, it seems, inhabited different bodies. With every story, I take a piece of each character with me. I have become not only a more empathetic and inquisitive human being as a result of books, but also a culmination of all the characters I hold so dear. To me, reading is quite literally life-changing; It is a love I will never be truly able to put into words. But this book blog, I suppose, is where I begin to try. Below are some of my reflections on a plethora of different stories I have read throughout the years. They have each, in some way, entertained me, inspired me, and taught me. What started as a fun summer activity at 13 years old, has now blossomed into a catalog of reflections on some of my all-time favorite books. I can't wait to read even more stories and live even more lives. As Frank Zappa once said, "So many books, so little time." I invite you to delve into the many stories that have touched my heart, and wish you all the magic that they have given me.
